Our House of Learning

our family's adventures in homeschooling

About March 10, 2009

“Seek ye diligently and teach each other words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning even by study and also by faith. Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God” D & C 88:118-119

Our family:

Jill: the mom, educator, nurturer, referee, nurse/boo-boo healer, cook… who also loves to read and learn.

Jason: the dad, graphic designer, little league coach, cool parent… the fun one.

Joel: seven year old boy, twin, smart, baseball player, loves all sports, a good reader, helpful to his parents, usually kind to his siblings… current aspiration: chef/pro-baseball player – at the same time (ah, we can dream!)

Jonas: seven year old boy, twin, also smart, baseball player, good reader. most mischievous, and most compassionate. current aspiration: own a toy store. (so he can have any toy he wants. good goal.)

Jill: three years old, resident princess in training. she calls the shots around here, though they twins won’t admit it.

Colton: one year old boy, walking (or running — to keep up with the big boys). he’s our peacemaker. will dole out hugs and snuggles unprovoked, but always when and to whom they are most needed. good instinct for trouble, but generally keeps himself unharmed. his mother swears he must be protected by a legion of angles, and tempted by legion of demons!

Our family started in South, but are currently living in the mid-west. We have adapted well, but do miss our southern family. We also have family all up and down the east and west coasts… Makes for many adventures!
